Please watch the short video Demonstration if your child is a current 3rd grade student looking to play a STRING instrument next year in 4th grade.
More information about the program can be found in the letter below. To register your child, parents should log in to Aspen and follow the instructions found here or in the form below.
BOOK: Orchestra Expressions Book 1 (Be sure to choose the instrument your child is learning.) Area rental companies can also supply this book. INSTRUMENTS: Violin, Viola, Cello, or Double Bass Instruments can be rented from a vendor of your choice. It is highly suggested that students rent a string instrument as sizes change as your child grows, and the wrong size can negatively impact their experience. If your family already owns an instrument please confirm with Mrs. Creamer that it is the correct size and in good working condition.
In 5th grade, students are allowed to participate in strings, band, and chorus if they wish. Bedford is unique because students in grades 5-12 can participate in strings, band, and chorus simultaneously, and we highly encourage participation in as many instruments as the student wishes.
Current 4th grade students receive a Band Instrument and Chorus Demonstration in June. If your current 4th grader is interested in continuing to play a string instrument next year in 5th grade then please complete the Aspen. Directions can be found here or in the letter below. To register your child, parents should log in to Aspen and follow the instructions found here or in the letter below.
